about

Lyrics originally written and sung by my daughter Jane Bieundurry in the
Wangkatjungka language, which I then translated into Walmatjarri. A hunting song where women, men and children go out hunting for our bush foods.

lyrics

Yanany parlipa, kuyiwi, jaa miyiwu yanany parlipa.
(We are going for meat and food, we are going)

Yanany parlipa, yanany parlipa.
(We are going, we are going)

Marnin jaa piyirn jaa yapa, yanany parlipa.
(Women and men and children, we are going)

Yanany parlipa jarrampayiwu, karntiwu yanany parlipa.
(We are going for goanna, and for yams, we are going)

Yanany parlipa, yanany parlipa.
(We are going, we are going)

Marnin jaa piyirn jaa yapa, yanany parlipa.
(Women and men and children, we are going)
